The High Commission of Malaysia in Sri Lanka wishes to inform that to ensure the visa management process runs smoothly, the Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM) has set the final application date for foreign worker visas by the Authorised Visa Agents as 17 May 2024. The final date for the Immigration Attaché Office/Malaysian Representative Office to review visa applications is 22 May 2024.

In this regard, the visa management process for foreign workers starting from 1 March 2024 will be implemented as follows:

i. The validity period of the visa for the foreign worker category is amended from six (6) months to three (3) months;

ii. The documents to be submitted by Authorised Visa Agents/employers are as follows:
a) A copy of the applicant's passport;
b) A copy of the VDR approval;

iii. If there is a notification from the Foreign Worker Division regarding the need for foreign worker visa applications after 17 May 2024, applications will be made by the respective employers in Malaysia through the issuance of a MYVISA System ID by the Visa, Pass and Permit Division.
